General Note
Feel free to PM me or post here if you want to set up any sort of plot or relationship with one of my characters. Just be aware that I won't personally be giving my cats crushes/love interests unless I'm reasonably sure that they mesh well with another character, and I'll likely also want to hash out some general details over a PM!
Please see this thread for my requests & adopts.
Tigerheart is a ferocious tabby warrior with a bad habit of turning herself into a living shield. She is not a native to the valley or her clan, but her loyalty is just as complete as that of full-blooded Treeclaners, and she is frequently hurt by her peer’s on-going mistrust. However, she is herself of a distinctly reserved and distrustful nature and does relatively little to help herself, meaning that her situation isn’t likely to change any time soon.
Beneath Ferocity: Ashstar finally gives Tigerheart her own apprentice, but, as a cruel joke (/means to make a point), picks a kit that is so meek that no cat believes it will ever become a warrior. Worse, the warrior’s ferocious reputation convinces her clan that she will only make matters worse for the poor little thing, and she finds herself obliged to simultaneously evade suspicious / accusing peers, prove their leader wrong, coax some sort of strength from the hapless kit, and, of course, drag a long-buried softness from the depths of her battered heart.

The Root of it: It's no secret that Tigerheart has some 'trust issues', and that at least some of her troubles with Treeclan's leader are connected both to her refusal to trust him and her propensity to question certain of his commands. Unfortunately, no one really understands why she is as she is, and it’s becoming obvious that the tension between her and Ashstar (and the clan as a whole) is making things far worse than they need to be. Eventually, one cat decides that enough is enough and sets out to 'fix' her once and for all - but first, s/he has to get at the root of the problem...and that means breaking through the she-cats outer shell...
The Living Shield: Tigerheart’s birth clan drilled a number of not-so-great practices into the she-cat’s head, and one of the most notable is a single simple rule: Claws take the hits for their betters. In Fireclan’s eyes, this meant everyone who wasn’t a Claw, and the lesson was ingrained so deeply into her that even her time as a lone has failed to shift it. For Tigerheart, playing ‘living shield’ is virtually reflexive, which means that she would likely have put herself between Treeclanner’s and Rogues at multiple points in the Rogue Invasion – and particularly during the attack on the camp. It would be interesting to have a couple of characters about who benefited from this habit, and to play around with the results: would they end up secretly (or not so secretly) hero-worshiping her for it? Would they merely feel like they had to pay off some annoying debt? Or would they feel insulted by it? The protectees could have been cats from any rank, branch, or gender, so there’s a lot of flexibility with how the moment could have gone down, and the longer-term consequences.
Grizzled Connections: In Because She Intervened, Tigerheart chose to give her confiscated rabbit to a Neglected elder. It was a more-or-less impulsive decision, but I can see her continuing to feed them from time-to-time – which means that there’s an opportunity for the two to form some sort of relationship. This could be a simple occasional-caretaker+recipient deal, or develop into a friendship of sorts, but either way it could be something fun to play around with!
Rogue Invasion: Tigerheart would have actively protected Leopardstrike's former apprentices during the Rogue Invasion, as she knows that he'd likely be hurt by their loses. However, she is also likely to have protected/taken hits for any Treeclaner that happened to be close to her during the attack on Treeclan's camp, and the earlier conflicts (because habit), so if you want to play on this for one of your characters then feel free to give me a nudge about it!
Ashstar is a quiet, seemingly level-headed tom who is generally well-regarded, though he may make some feel just a little uneasy. He is a new leader to Treeclan but has already settled into his role, and has already distinguished himself through his actions during the Rogue Invasion. However, there is also a darker side to this tom: an as-yet hidden bias against the clan’s Birds, and a tendency towards the manipulation of his peers.
The Leader's Legacy: Ashstar has big plans for his clan, but he also feels the need to look to his legacy – after all, what’s the good of being leader if you can’t guarantee you’ll be remembered? Big deeds might be the most certain way to make your mark, but the easiest trick is to fill the clan with one’s kin—and that means kits. Whatever might happen with his reign, Ashstar is determined at least to ensure that his blood runs strong – but first he must find a mate…
Note: Though there may be some potential for a mutual/real relationship to develop, I don’t see Ashstar actively seeking a true mate for himself. It’s much more likely that he’ll engage in some ‘empty’ courtship to attract a she-cat’s affections, or else come to some sort of arrangement with one who happens to want kits but isn’t interested in a long-term mate/relationship.

Squirrelkit is a shy she-kit who has already seen some of the darker side of the world, despite her young age. She was orphaned during the Rogue Invasion and has since become the clan’s responsibility, but she seems a little happier for her loss – is as timid as ever. Only time will tell of she might become something of worth to the cats of Treeclan.
Make Her or Break Her: At a little over six moons of age, Squirrelkit is now quietly waiting for her apprenticeship - and wondering what mistake she made to be left in the nursery so long. The now-late ceremony is something she regards more with dread than excitement, for apprenticeship will again place her in the paws of one cat, and she has little hope of finding a mentor who might be pleased to have her. The next phase of her life will decide her fate once and for all, but it is yet a mystery whether the experience will forge her anew or leave her more broken than before…
