Whilst the Warrior Code has seen many changes since Treeclan’s ancestors left the Lakeside, the Medicine Cat Code has remained very similar to that followed in the distant past. Few amendments have been made to the codes originally preserved and taught by the Valley’s first Medicine Cat, Tawnyeye, and none have been abandoned in the many generations since her death. This is a point of pride amongst Treeclan’s Medicine Cats, who view the code not just as a set of rules to be kept, but as a direct link to Tawnyeye herself—and to every Medicine Cat who came before and after her time.

This page holds a complete list of Treeclan’s Medicine Cat Code, and catalogues both the original versions of these codes and the additions and amendments that have been made since Treeclan’s formation. They are organised under three categories; namely: Criteria, Duties, and Relationships.

A Medicine Cat she-cat will not take a mate.



A Medicine Cat she-cat will not bear or raise kits.



Medicine Cats are outside inter-clan rivalries.
Amendment: Medicine Cats will not allow their duties to be affected by rivalries within their own clan.



A Medicine Cat will not allow their personal feelings to get in the way of his or her duties. The Senior and Junior Medicine Cats will work together for the good of the clan, and will not allow their duties to be impacted by in-fighting.
