Profile Templates
General Instructions
1. Familiarise yourself with our Character Creation rules before proceeding. If you are creating a kit/apprentice, please also familiarise yourself with our Apprentices [And Kit-to-Warrior] Progression thread. 2. Ensure you follow the rules and guidelines provided for whichever template you are using. 3. Do not delete fields unless a note states that doing so is acceptable. You are welcome to change both the Character Profile and NPC Mini Profile formats to suit your tastes, but must ensure that it contains all compulsory fields from the original. Do not edit the NPC - Basic Form's format. 4. An NPC – Basic Form must be provided for all of your NPCs. Providing this form will prompt us to add the cat to our NPC Listings, and add its name to our Extant Names listing. NPCs do not require their own profiles (but we encourage you to provide one using our NPC Mini Profile if your NPC is free-use.) 5. If you intend to post one of your character’s relationships in our Plotting, Adoptions, and Request board, we strongly recommend that you initially make it a Personal NPC (Use the Basic Form). See NPC Types for an explanation of what this means.

Characters - Profile Template
Instructions 1. Replace all placeholder text with the appropriate information, following the provided guidelines. 2. Post your profile in it’s own thread within the Pending Profiles board, using the character’s name as the thread’s title. 3. If your character is a kit or apprentice, tag the profile with the character’s future suffixes (eg: Squirrelkit [Paw/Step]). Warrior suffixes are only guaranteed if this tag is present when the profile is accepted. Kits/apprentices without these tags will be given random warrior suffixes by whomever is playing the appropriate clan leader at the time of their warrior ceremony. 4. Tag your profile with [WIP] until it is complete. Profiles tagged with [WIP] will not be moderated. 5. Post the Basic NPC form directly beneath your character profile if you want any of the character’s relationships to become NPCs. Note that this only needs to be done once per NPC (i.e: if two of your characters are siblings and you make one of their parents an NPC, post the form below one profile). 6. Wait for staff to moderate and accept your character. If you’re worried that your profile has been/might be missed (particularly if previously posted as a WIP), feel free to post in our Shoutbox/Discord, or to send a PM (entitled ‘Completed Profile [CharacterName]’). {Personal Data} Name: Age: Provide in moons (you can include seasons in brackets if you wish. Delete if actual/biological gender is one in the same. Sexuality: Optional. Feel free to delete.
Note re: LGBT+ characters: Please think very carefully before creating an LGBT+ (and especially trans or non-binary) character. As explained on our FAQ page, Treeclan is intolerant of anything ‘different’, so these characters would either need to be in the closet or would have experienced negative interactions within the clan (even if only from NPCs). In addition, trans characters would NOT be able to change their outwards appearance, because they would not have access to any of the medical advancements that make this possible for humans. If you want to play an LGBT+ character here, please take time to consider whether the in-character consequences would make you unduly uncomfortable or affect your health/wellbeing. If you feel that playing an LBGT+ character within Treeclan would be detrimental to you, we strongly encourage you NOT to go ahead with them. Similarly, if you are not LGBT+ and are unsure whether you could portray an LGBT+ character within Treeclan’s context and with the appropriate sensitivity, please DO NOT create the character. It is our hope that Treeclan will eventually become more inclusive or that a more inclusive alternative will appear as the roleplay progresses, but in the meantime please be aware of (and accept our apologies for) the clan’s inherent assishness.

NPCs Types
Site These cats are official NPCs, have their own mini-profiles (tagged [Site]) within the NPC board, and belong to TCE as a whole. They are free for anyone to use at any time, with the understanding that no one will make significant changes to their details (eg: add traumas / serious injuries / major relationships / etc) without staff permission. Potential changes may be put to a vote before being applied. Note that only staff can add new Site NPCs. These cats will remain available to all users until they are killed off during roleplay (either as a result of old age, random accident/illness, or a more significant plot development). Many of these cats originate from our Cat Crafter forum game, and were collaboratively built by our members. Free Use These cats belong to the member who first created them, and may or may not have their own mini-profiles (tagged [Free Use]) within the NPC board. They can be used by any member at any time, with the understanding that no one will make any changes to their details without their owner’s permission. Applicable changes should be PM’ed to staff by the NPC’s owner so that their NPC Page listing can be edited accordingly. These NPCs will remain in our listings until their original owner asks for their removal. They remain playable even if their owner falls inactive, but continue to be un-editable without their owner's permission. Personal These cats belong to the member who first created them, usually do not have their own mini-profiles within the NPC board (if they do, they should be tagged [Personal]), and cannot be used without their owner’s express permission. They are logged primarily to avoid confusion that might otherwise arise from duplicate names and/or references made to them within roleplays. Applicable changes should be PM’ed to staff by the NPC’s owner so that their NPC Page listing can be edited accordingly. These NPCs will usually be removed from our listings should their owner leave TCE or fall inactive for an extended period of time. Exceptions may occur where an NPC is connected to another member's character. Members may give named individuals permanent permission to use their Personal NPCs by including a note to that affect in the NPCs basic form / mini-profile.

NPCs - Basic Form
Instructions 1. Post this form directly beneath your character’s profile if you want any of your character’s relatives/other relationships to be added to our NPC records. 2. Ensure that all NPCs are named within the ‘relationships’ section of your character's profile. They will not be added to our records if this is not the case. 3. Replace all placeholder text with the appropriate information. Placeholder text is as follows: relationships; gender; brief blurb, including appearance and personality; x; bracketed information. 4. Use the Type formats listed within the type section’s brackets, and match relationships to the format within the relationship section’s brackets. See above for more information about NPC types. 5. If your cat’s primary speciality is not a hunting speciality, list the primary first, and the hunting second. 6. If your NPC is a kit, remove x specialist. 7. Do not edit the code. Our NPC page uses HTML, so changing the code will create unnecessary work for staff. 8. Note that this form can be filled out and PM'ed to Greymuzzles (title: New NPC) if you decide to make a cat an NPC at a later date. Code
<b>Name</b><br> Owner: Name<br> Type: (site NPC; free use; personal use)<br> Biological Gender // Actual gender (delete if same as biological) // x moons // Branch // x specialist<br> Relationships (mate of x; father/mother of x; sibling of x; mentor/apprentice of x; etc)<br> Brief blurb, including appearance and personality.

NPCs - Profile Template
Instructions 1. Ensure that a completed copy of the NPC Basic Form has been posted beneath an applicable character profile (as per the Basic Form’s instructions), or PM’ed to Greymuzzles. Alternatively, post a completed copy of the form in a new post beneath your mini-profile. 2. Ensure that the NPC is listed within the ‘relationships’ section of one of your character’s profiles. If this is not the case, your NPC will not be accepted. 3. Replace all placeholder text with the appropriate information. 4. Post the profile within it’s own thread in the Pending Profiles board, and ensure that its title is tagged with the appropriate NPC type ([Free Use] or [Personal]) Do not post two NPCs in the same thread, or post an NPC mini-profile with a character profile. 5. Wait for Staff to accept the profile. Accepted NPCs will subsequently be added to our listings, and can be used within roleplay posts as long as they remain side-characters. 6. If your NPC begins to develop into a full/POV character, you are required to post a new thread using the Character Profile Template, and have the character removed from our NPC listings.
