Pre-Roleplay |
Not so long ago, Rogues invaded the valley. It’s unclear where they came from or how they crossed the mountains unnoticed, but they came in numbers – and they came with malice. Though fewer than the clan they were also fiercer, less predictable, and for three moons they terrorised Treeclan, attacking and stealing with every chance they found. It wasn’t long before the strain began to make itself known, but Treeclan’s leader, Thistlestar, seemed strangely unwilling to take matters in paw. The old Bird’s reluctance to fight back quickly began to create something of a rift within the clan, and arguments between the two branches—Birds and Boars—started to get out of control. Their deputy saw this; understood that someone needed to act. In an almost unprecedented move, Ashclaw decided to take things into his own paws. He followed the example of Treeclan’s founders and acted for the good of all, finally leading an overdue strike against the Rogues. Backed by his fellow Boars the warrior taught them a lesson they wouldn’t soon forget, and after two fierce battles—one in the woods, the other in camp—the Rogues were driven out. They left behind half their number—cats slain by the Boar’s Might—but took, too, a heavy price. A few fierce fighters. A smattering of unlucky Birds. The Leader’s last life. That is the way Ashstar and his nearest tell it, and for the last moon the new leader has been honoured for his bravery; praised for his work – but there is uncertainty, too. There were Rogues and conflicts, oh yes, and none can doubt that the ‘Great Hero’ drove the invaders away; fought fiercely whenever they came. That much is fact, but some are sure that there has been some fundamental change: that the camp might not have been attacked had Ashstar followed Thistlestar’s will and left the Rogues alone. That, perhaps, the cat hasn’t fixed the Bird-Boar rift quite as well as he ought… Still, it has only been one moon. And Ashstar is the leader. For better or for worse. |
Consider this TCE’s ‘honeymoon’ phase. The first real plot developments will be released in due course, but until then please use this time to create your characters, and perhaps begin developing individual mini-plots. Just remember to incorporate the main plot into your stories once it begins! Where possible TCE’s plot will be driven by you – the members! Key developments will be released by staff to get the ball rolling and provide some direction, but ultimately the meat and outcome of the plot is in your hands! |
