Gᴇɴᴇʀᴀʟ Rᴜʟᴇs1. All characters must have a staff-accepted profile before they are roleplayed in any of the official roleplay boards. New profiles should be submitted to the Pending Profiles board. You are welcome to post work-in-progress profiles to the Pending Profiles board, but all such profiles must be clearly marked as WIPs. No profile will be reviewed whilst the WIP label is in their title. 2. All profiles must be posted on the provided template , but you are free to add extra fields and code these templates as you wish. You cannot, however, remove fields unless otherwise stated in the template. 3. Remember that a new member's first profile will not be accepted until that member has PM'ed Greymuzzles our current registration code (please entitle this message 'Verification' so it can easily be located). This code is hidden in one of our rules threads, and is our best way of verifying that members have read our rules. 4. No repeat names. Please check our Extant Names thread for a comprehensive list of the character names currently in use on TCE. Names must also make sense in the context of warrior cats (i.e. cats must know what the prefix/suffix is!) 5. Note that apprentices are considered limited characters unless obtained during roleplay. Please see here for rules concerning apprentice-creation/progression. 6. You must own an unused 'Unlimited Cat' slot or the appropriate charm to create characters that have limited traits . Profiles containing limited traits will be rejected unless you hold an unused charm/slot for the trait. 7. All members have one free Unlimited Cat slot to use as they wish. Additional Unlimited Cat slots may be awarded by staff at their discretion. 8. There is currently no limit on the number of cats any given member can play.

Hɪɢʜ Pᴏsɪᴛɪᴏɴs1. Open high positions must be applied for here, unless filled during roleplay. Profiles for any high ranking cats will not be accepted until their high position application has been accepted. Once a position has been filled, replacements will be selected almost exclusively through roleplay, using the same methods seen in the books. 2. There is currently a hard limit of one high position per member. 3. Members owning high positions should post a minimum of once a fortnight (preferably with the high-ranking character). Members failing to post for over a month, without prior notice, may lose their position.

Relatives, Mentors, Friends, and Enemies To avoid confusion around character relationships (e.g. character A has a sibling named Birchfur, character B is called Birchfur, and neither cat is related), the following rules apply to characters’ relatives/mentors (etc): 1. If a relative or mentor (etc) is not an NPC or OC, they must not be given a full clan name. Instead they must be referred to by their prefix only (e.g. Birch-, Hawk-, Golden-) within both character profiles and roleplay posts. 2. If a relative or mentor is to be put up for adoption with a full clan name, they must be registered as an NPC using the NPC templates. 3. If you want to refer to a relative or mentor by their full clan name, they must either: - Be reserved as one of your future characters - Be registered as an NPC using the NPC templates For the sake of flexibility, the following exceptions to this rule apply: - Deceased kits - Deceased apprentices (if they died more than six moons ago) - Dark Forest explorers (maximum of one per member. Must be registered as an NPC, and will be shown on the Dark Forest Register) Note that all profiles created before Feb 2021 have been grandfathered in, meaning that members are not required to retrospectively adjust the names of older cats’ relatives.
